Important tax info for new adoptive parents in process.....

For anyone who had a child placed with them in 2001, but has not completed finalization, don't forget to file Form W-7A as soon as possible. This is required by law, and takes several weeks to process. You will not be able to file your federal taxes and take the adoption credits until you obtain an ATIN.
