My husband and I just moved to Virginia. Can anybody give us advice who to see to become foster parents in the hopes of adopting a little girl between the ages of 5 to 8 years of age?
Name of Social Office, phone number and the name of a really good social worker to get the process started would be helpful. Thank you for your help... |

Margaret,
Where in Virginia do you live? I adopted two children and I live in Virginia Beach. You can start with your local Social Services office. Just be aware that when you include "uncle sam" in anything it always includes lots of red tape and waiting. My adoption was very lengthy due to the fact I also had another state involved. Also...try to contact the office of Virginia's department of Children and Families...they may help. I hope this helps...don't give up...so many children need people like you! My children are so worth it! And they were my foster kids first! April L. |
