Talking First Home Study Visit

We just had our first home study visit! It went so well. I am so excited! I have been so nervous, especially this morning, and now I see there was no reason to be nervous at all. Two more visits and a ton of paperwork, but she is hoping to have everything ready to turn into the board by the 1st of April. Just in time for my husbands bithday which also happens to be Easter this year. That will be the best gift of all! Well thanks for reading!

Glad to hear everything went well for you. This time last year my husband and I were going through the same thing. And now we are enjoying our SON. He was born on January 8th. (Already 1 month old )

Good luck with everything. If you need any support through anything just let me know. I am here for you...

Talking congrats~

Hi! Welcome to the world of HOMESTUDIES!! We stayed up till 1am the night before cleaning out everything that didnt move! We were pleasantly surprised at the ease in which the meeting went! We were approved the ned of July 2003 and are waiting. A few disappointing "possibilities" along the way, but we are hopeful. Our family coordinator told us it could take up to a yeaer...soooooo...just be happy as you go through the milestones and if it gets "Quiet" for a while, dont worry, just consider the time to get even more prepared by working on your maraige to make it the strongest it can be and enjoy the times you have alone...we have been celebrating little moments along the way these last 6 months and sealin gour marraige even more deeply to prepare for what is ahead..the JOYS and CHALLENGES of parenthood!!
God Bless

I was really nervous before our first homestudy meeting and before the home visit, but everything went really well. In fact, it was the only bright spot in our miserable failed adoption from Kazakhstan. We maintained contact with our social worker and we are now attempting domestic adoption. Our homestudy is still valid.
Don't sweat the homestudy. You'll do fine.

I am so sorry your international adoption failed. How did that happen?
I worry about that too! Guess I am just a worry wart. Good luck on your domestic adoption.

Congratulations on the 1st homestudy! We're still waiting to start our 7 week PRIDE classes, and then the homestudies. I've read a lot about what to expect, but here is one question that came up the other day: Would I have to remove our wine from the wine rack? I'm probably guessing we would, but I have no idea what our case worker would tell us. Good luck to everyone!
