First of all let me say I have been out there in that cruel word of Christmas shopping. Boy is it scarring out there. LOL
No really I am doing great almost done. I have had a blast being for everyone that I know and even people I don't. I told Bruce for Christmas this year I wanted to give the gift of Christmas to those that would not be able to have a Christmas. What is so funny is that we are like the rest of ya'll that live pretty much pay check to pay check but Christmas is all about the gift of love, hope and friendship? If I can make a difference in a child's life then that is what I am here for. Thank God I have such a wonderful husband.

Darci- your kids are so cute. That boy of your is a little Charlie brown. that is what we called my uncle. He and I are best friends we are only three years apart. He looked like that when we were little, solid as a rock. Your daughter is beautiful. Your are indeed bless. Thanks for sharing your picture.

1, Alizabeth Faithe or Hunter Alan

2. Yes-But not anymore

3.I have the ring that my great grandmother wore until she died and it is the same ring that her great-grandmother wore. I am the 6th generation to have it. It is a wide solid gold band, that says pure gold it is so soft. I have to be careful if I wear it. I am the oldest great-grand-daughter so the ring was passed to me. I also have a small hand and I am one of the only one in my family that can where her ring. I wore it for several years when I was first married. Someday It will be passed on to my oldest great-daughter. If I don't have one then we will just see. LOL. That is what it has done in our family.

4. When I was younger I was told that I looked like Annette Benning Sorry I wasn't sure how to spell her name.

5.Jetta

morning ladies

Hi all yesterday was a busy and sad day, my hubbies grandpa passed away one year ago yesterday and amazing man, never got to meet our beautiful daughter but I am sure he sees her from heaven.
Had dinner with that side of the family, had other side grandma babysit, I was shocked to see like week old newborns out in a crowded resteraunt, people are nuts!! We had an hour wait even to get seated grrr, and then the lost hubbies entree', but you can bet you behind, it was free .

Cathy wow, still no baby, I am glad you to Maries suggestion to heart. Did she enjoy her day?? How sweet I just imagine her tearing open her gifts with wide eyed wonder and glee

Hello to everyone else hope you all are having a good day and not freezing your butts off!

Oh Darci your kids are so CUTE!!!! Just precious!!!!

Lets see the quiz.

1. boy hmn...................... I think William Frederick (Frederick was grandpa's name)
Girl Ava Elizabeth

2. Yes I can sew by hand and on a machine, but I rarely do, not my thing

3. hands down my photos also, they are all the precious memories of my life!

4. Hmn. I have been told I look like Angie Harmon

5. Chevy Malibu

Exclamation

Hi Everyone,

Being as emotional as I seem to get lately is not helping me some days. Although I don't have the physical symtoms as a pregnant woman, I certainly have the emotions.

This morning I received an email from an old good friend. Last week I had emailed her to tell her about the adoption. Her response to me was about how I am not ready to do this and she hopes I know what I am doing, bah, bah, bah.

Normally I don't get bothered by this but coming from her, makes it hurts. I need to put my shield up!

dreammom: my heart goes out to your family. I will say a little prayer for you.

First let me say welcome to the new people....that's just Jewel right? Is there another person I'm missing??

Gosh, work has been so busy that I'm finding very hard to keep up these days. In fact, I really should be working right now but I'm avoiding it long enough to say that Darci's kids are cuties as are Marie's.

Little Sean fooled me - I guessed the 14th so I'm out.

Oh, and I'm gonna answer the quiz....here goes.....

1 -besides the names of the children you already have especially for those waiting for your little what is your favorite boys/girls name?

Payton Reese (girl)
Braden Calder (boy)

2 - can you sew?

not really, haven't been on a sewing machine since jr. high

3 - what is your most valuable (to you) possession (not a person)?

pictures definitely but jewelry is a close second (I have several pieces that were my grandmother's)

4 - i you could look like anyone, who would it be?

Michelle Phiefer (sp?), Meg Ryan, Reese Witherspoon

5 - what kind of car do you drive?

Hyundai Sonata LX (have I mentioned that I love, love, love my car?!?)

I hope everyone has a great day....I'll try to check back in later!

Wow, I really got behind over the weekend! I'll try and jump in with the quiz here

1. Emilee Grace for a girl, I really don't know for a boy, but Jesse would be funny, my boys would be Jesse & James! (plus I'm related to him!)

2. No, I can do some simple repairs, but if it involves a pattern, forget it!!

3. I have to go with photos, also we just did James' footprints in plaster of paris to match the ones we did of Ashlee when she was tiny, they are so precious!

4.I don't know, maybe Drew Barrymore?

5. I drive a Ford Taurus.

We took the kids to see Santa Friday night. Its a good thing Ashlee had her little brother there, or I don't think she would have gotten in his lap! James loves everyone, so it was no problem! It was great, when we got in line there was a family 3 or 4 people in front of us with a girl a bit older than Ashlee who looked like a biological daughter, and their baby was also AA! We didn't really talk since we weren't close (and we went when the line was relatively short!!!) but we all ended up at McDonalds afterwards and finally ended up talking. We thought it was great how we matched!! They want to adopt again, so we told them about our agency, it was really fun! Well, I'd better run!

good morning,

as one of my co-workers reminded me today, 9 days til christmas!!

jewel, sorry about your friend. when i was done with my last foster parent class i decided to call all my friends that did not know i was taking the classes ( i only told about 2 or 3 while i was in the classes). everyone was very surprised and excited, except one of my friends who said, "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?" that really stuck with me and made me feel bad (that was 5 years ago and that still is the first thing i think about when i see her). she lives out of state and we are getting further and further apart and i think part of it is the kids thing. she is not a kid person and can't understand why i would take on someone else's kids especially as a single person. oh well, you can't please everyone.

to everyone else good morning and i can't wait to hear that sean is born or that someone has a new little one that will be arriving in their home soon!

Wow - apparently I haven't checked in for awhile!

Jewel I am glad to hear the announcement was kindly received at church, though I am sorry about your friend...but keep it in perspective...so far that is only one person, so focus on the support of all those other people!

Michelle - that was neat about that family you met! Cool!

Stacy - LOVED your girl names...we think so much alike sometimes it's wierd.

Cathy, I loved your boy names. I have a cousin named Hunter and think it's so cute...and Clayton is adorable. I forget the other one, but I liked it too.

I liked many other names as well - there weren't any I didn't like, if I recall - but those are the ones that stuck out to me...someone else said Hunter as well.

Ok, now it's my turn!

1 - favorite boys/girls name?

Jaden was what we thought about naming Kaden but it got too popular so we looked into other names and found Kaden and loved it.

Girl? Jocelyn Faith is what we had picked, but don't know if we would still use it now or not?

2 - can you sew?

Sort of...I sewed all my curtains and I sew pillows and stuff, but nothing complicated. (oh and yes, buttons too )

3 - what is your most valuable (to you) possession (not a person)?

Photos, wedding ring and I have a quilt my grandma had made for me when I got married as well as an Amish quilt I got from her estate.

4 - if you could look like anyone, who would it be?

This is tough!!! I like all of your choices - I'd love to look like Reese Witherspoon or some of the others you chose...but I think I will go with ooh, Jessica Simpson! ha! She may be stupid, but she's gorgeous...and more my age than most of the other choices. (Plus we have the same first name! )

5 - what kind of car do you drive?

Toyota Corolla wagon

That was fun McKenna - great quiz! We need to do an Erin quiz...I will work on that soon.

Until later!

Good Morning Everyone!

Jewel, I know where High Level is, but I've never been there before. Also, I know how you feel about that friend, it's hard when you expect everybody to be happy and they react differently. I thought everyone would be happy and supportive and some people were saying, do you know what you're getting into and don't you just want your own kids? People just don't understand. I would phone your friend and tell her that she hurt your feelings and that this is your decision and all you wanted was a congratulations. Then maybe she'll realize that she didn't react very nicely.

Okay, I'm jumping off my soapbox now. LOL

Last night I decorated my sugar cookies and I made mini cream puffs and I gotta say those cream puffs where nummy nummy nummy! And they were so easy to make, no trouble at all. I'm sure you could handle these Jess. LOL

Tonights coffee night so no baking! I'm happy but I also want to get it done and over with. I still have lots of turtles to make and more cream puffs and perogies so we'll see if I can do it. LOL

Stacy

Oh Cathy, I forgot to say that my older brothers name is Clayton. I like that name too. My younger brothers name is Logan, I love his name and it's not that popular. It's more popular now but when he was born and for like 10 years after, it wasn't popular at all.

Anyway, I gotta ask, what are some of the weird names in your family. Here are some of the weird ones in my family:

(These are all cousins)
Tatianna
Deljorah (pernounced just as it's spelled)
Callahan
Cullen
Jilaire
Nadia (sounds like Claudia)
Jory
Dayton

That's about it. Anyone else have some funky names to share?

Oh there's some people in town that just had a baby and the moms name is Melanie and the dads name is carl and they named their little baby girl Carl-mel. Yup you read it right Carl-mel. Can you believe it, isn't that crazy. That poor little kid.

what great names you have in your family. we have a lot of people in our family but everyone seems to have the same name. my dad has one sister named linda and he married a woman (my mom) who's name is linda. my mom has a bro named ken and she married a man (my dad) named ken. my uncle ken has a son also named ken. two of my aunts named their daughters katie lyn, i have an aunt and a sister named debbie, my sister married a man named mark and we have cousin named mark, my other sister is dating a man named matt and we have a brother named matt. that is the trouble with common names, soon every one has the same name. i think tommy's real name is the most unusual in our family. my sister is going to name her baby chloe if it is a girl. i really like that name.

oh yeah, for got to say because of all the ken's we still call the youngest one baby kenny - he is getting married in feb and is about 23 years old but will always be baby kenny, poor kid!

tooooo much to read and too much to respond to.

Jess - I pictured you with long dark hair for some reason...kinda like a new york girl. LOL. I have no idea why.

McKenna - I didn't even think about the names when I typed them. That's funny tho. If I get to name another boy I will use Thomas Joseph and call him TJ and my next girl will be Lillian Jane but I will probably call her Lily. my step dad is Thomas (actually his name is Harvey) and Lillian was my great grandmothers middle name.

My son, for whoever asked, is 9 months. The clothes that he is wearing in that picture are 18m size and he's about popping the buttons off the shirt.

I don't think there are odd names in my family really...lots of matching names tho like Mckennas family. I have a cousin named Melanie Lane. I always think of it as Melon Elaine. LOL. I really think my name is the strangest (least common) one in the family tho.

Thanks everyone who encouraged me on my business. I think I will start it next year. Maybe sometime I will put up a picture of one of the quilts I have done.

I still haven't heard back from our agency about whether or not we can go ahead and start another adoption. I will let you all know as soon as I find anything out though.

Well, hopefully I will be able to check back more often. I am so busy getting things ready for our trip. Plus, I havent even started my baking!

ok...be back later!

Hi everyone,

Mckenna you sure do have a lot of the same names in your family. LOL I don't think there is any same names in mine and that includes my dad's side too. Oh, I'm wrong I have two cousins named Shannon but on different sides. We have a huge family and no duplicate names but that's only cause us Crossland's would get to confussed. LOL

Darci, the Melon Elaine thing made me laugh. LOL

Cathy, have a good day, stop by again later.

I'm not going for coffee tonight cause the other girls can't go so I guess I'll finish my baking after all. I'm going to make more cream puffs!

funny names in my family...hmm..well in one family there are four boys named Teed, Thane, Tony and Titus...most of those are unusual. Lot of biblical names in our family, so most of them are pretty darn common! My cousin named her kids Hunter, Haven and Heston...I thought those were sort of unusual (at the time 5 years ago Hunter wasn't really popular yet). As you may have noticed by my examples, a lot of our family has named their kids all in the same starting letter. I know, it's kinda funny. I don't think we will do that, because I don't really like K names...especially for girls...

Well, Kaden is acting a little funny...I am pretty sure his top teeth are finally deciding to make their appearance...I was looking at his gums yesterday and I can see all four front teeth impressions through his gums. I can even see the white just below the surface on the two on the left side...kinda funny - I wonder if he will get all four at once? I wonder if he will get a side one before one of the front ones?! Anyway, poor little guy! He isn't being bad, but he isn't napping very regularly, and I think he is just in discomfort.

Well, some bad news...my aunt (the one I am closer to than any other relatives) is in the hospital and I just got a call from my mom that she is going in for open heart surgery!!!! I hope she will be ok! The good news is that she is at a good hospital and her doctor is one of my good friend's dad's and my friend is working right now (she is a nurse on the heart patient floor). So, that is really nice...it makes such a difference when you know people and can get a little better care! So, I sure hope she will be fine. My friend says she should be, and since she is only in her 50s, her recovery and everything should actually be pretty good. I hope so!

Well, that's all for now. I just went to the post office and got my oil changed - I am so proud of myself for getting those yucky errands done first thing! Ciao!

Jess, I'm saying a little prayer for your aunt, I hope everything turns out good. I agree it makes a difference when you know someone cause then you feel like they are taking the best possible care of her so it sounds like she's in good hands.

Hugs to you,

Stacy
