Cathy, I'm sorry you have to stay home and that Lexi isn't feeling good. Maybe Nick could go and get you some turkey.
I'm still laughing about the whole stocking hat thing, you'll laugh your head off when you hear what we call it. Or do you know already? Stacy

I'm fairly busy at work, I'm redoing our safety program so it's tedious and boring. I wish I was off work until January! That'd be a nice HOLIDAY! LOL (did you catch that Jess)
Ok better get back to the grindstone. Stacy

Happy Friday all
Didn't mean to make you jealous!!! As I only work part-time as a residential care worker I am considered casual and as such can pretty much say when I want to work to some extent anyway. I usually work nights because then DH babysits .. at least he was sleeping and getting up if the kids needed him. With the new baby he is not as comfortable with her yet so prefers me to be home. Hence the month off .. long winded explanation right!!! DH gets two weeks off at Xmas as the University closes (I used to love that when I worked there .. 2 extra weeks holiday each year with pay). Plus he is taking at least another weeks holiday so we can enjoy the holidays without being stressed. He has worked there so long now that he gets 5 weeks holidays a year plus the 2 weeks at Xmas so in January he works, usually, a 4 day week. Its cold here this morning .. so not venturing out .. finally got the baby to go to sleep in the swing ... wanted to be held since early this morning and I do have to get some things done around here today .. including making more bottles as she was a little piggy all night .. drank 4 bottles. Must be another growth spurt. LOL She sure is a lot bigger than when she came to us and in only a few short weeks. A held the baby yesterday .. it was so cute .. wished I could get a picture but didn't want to leave them to grab the camera. Everytime I tried to take the baby away A would cry and hold out her arms. So cute. Well better get those chores done that have to be done before baby wakes up again. Hope everybody has a good day. Cathy enjoy your company .. look forward to hearing all about it on Monday. Stacy ... try not to work too hard .. remember its TGIF. Jess .. hope you had a good day yesterday. Erin, Darci, McKenna, b -- hope you all had a great thanksgiving. Hugs Marie |

Thank God it's Friday!
I hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving. Stacey and I had salad and chicken wings for supper so I am definetly envious. Oh well, that salad I made was really good. Cathy, have fun with your company this weekend. I have said some prayers for them that they get a little one soon. I surprised you didn't say anything about our word for a winter hat - toque. LOL Jess, what movie did you watch? I'm glad you had a nice thanksgiving. Marie, that's great that you were able to get a month off. How nice would that be. It'll be nice to be at home together as well. I get a week off but Stacey on gets a few days. Erin, B, Mckenna, Darci, I hope all your thanksgivings were wonderful. We miss you guys around here! Hope to hear from you soon. Well, didn't do anything last night, just made supper and watched tv and did the dishes. LOL Pretty lazy night. Tonight I'm babysitting for my friends while they go to a christmas party and then tomorrow night I have my christmas party to go to which will be fun because I organized it. LOL We are having supper and then we have a comedian coming in and then a dj to play music for a while. I'm looking forward to a night out. Allrighty, I'll check back later. Stacy

Hello all! Well, Thanksgiving was great. And I am loving this extended long weekend...it is awesome! We watched "It runs in the family" last night - has Kirk and Michael Douglas...it was pretty good. Today hubby's grandma is supposed to be stopping by at some point - she is a little nutty and lives a few hours away, so we haven't seen her in a long time - actually she has never met Kaden. So, hopefully that is fun. It is kind of wierd...we just only usually spend time with his grandpa and his family (they divorced when hubby's dad was very young), they live closer and are far more sane, so we just don't see the others very often. So, hopefully it is a nice time.
Also, a bunch of my family is starting to pour in...my great aunt died a few days ago and she was single with no children, so she was always close to my dad's family (since they had 7 children and tons of grandkids) so, that funeral will be Monday. I didn't really know her very well at all, but I just know how ready she was to go to Heaven, so it isn't a sad death at all. Whatever the case, a number of my dad's siblings are beginning to arrive into town for that. So, should be a full weekend. Marie - A sounds so cute holding baby - you need to keep that camera handy!!! Glad you can take some time off now to be with the little one.Stacy, Christmas parties already - wow! I guess our office Christmas party is in a week or something too, I can't believe how fast it has come! Hope you have a good time at your party tomorrow! Cathy - have a great time with your friends! Can't wait to hear about it. Hi everyone else - hope all's well! |

Jess, I'm sorry to hear about your aunt.
His grandma has never seen Kaden, oh she doesn't know what she's missing. He's so cute, she won't know what hit her. I wanted to watch that movie but haven't gotten around to it yet, maybe on Sunday night. Anyway, gotta run and get Stacey for lunch. I'm not going swimming today cause I'm really busy. I'm trying to get things ready for the Chirstmas party and I have a safety meeting at 3:00 this afternoon to get ready for too so I'll talk to you all later. Sounds like everyone is going to have a very full weekend! Stacy

Jess -- I'm sorry to hear about your aunt .. but I like your attitude. I have told my family that when I go I would prefer they celebrate my passing rather than grieve it as I will be going home. They don't really understand my way of thinking but it is how I feel.
You sound like your a little nervous about this grandma stopping by. I hope all goes well .. she can't help but love Kaden he is so cute. Stacy -- WOW you sure sound busy .. but knowing you it will all get done and you can relax over the week-end. I can't believe how fast this week has flown by. We watched the Santa Claus 2 movie with Tim Allen last week-end ... it was funny, but not as much as the first one .. but I did like the happy ending. What's a Santa movie without a happy ending. This week-end we are hoping to put up our Christmas tree and maybe some of the decorations .. we will see. Also going to dig out all our Christmas movies .. get us really into the spirit of things. My MIL wants a puppy for Christmas .. but the ones she likes are so expensive going to see if my BIL can go halves with us at least. Not much else is new .. and now baby is waking up for her bottle yet again. LOL Have a great week-end all. HUGS Marie |

Finally back from the Thanksgiving food fest. As always the food is great
Glad to hear (read) that most of you had a good couple of days. I am beginning to contemplate putting up my Christmas decorations and listening to Christmas music- probably won't get to it until next week though. I haven't seen any of those movies -the last movies I watched were Legally Blonde 2 & What a girl wants (because it has Colin Firth in it). My sisters all said that we needed to see Finding Nemo, so I am planning to rent that one soon. I tend to rent movies rather than go to the theater because it is so doggone expensive!!! Jess -sorry to hear about your great aunt. It was kind of that way when my great grandma died a few years ago. I didn't really know her either but I knew she was ready to go. I have an uncle (my mom's sister's husband) who is in the very advanced stages of ALS (muscular degenerative disease) and all he can do to communicate now is to write on a pad of paper and he can barely do that. We just found out this weekend that the nurse who comes to check on him doesn't think it will be very long until he dies. He has four kids (18,15,12,8) and he was my favorite uncle when I was little, so it has been very sad. However, he has told my mom the last time she visited him that he was ready to go and he didn't want to go through another winter So this isn't totally unexpected either.Cathy- I hope Lexi is feeling better, especially with your company coming. I will also add them to my prayer list in hopes they will soon be selected for a baby. I keep thinking I don't know what I'll do if I have to wait too much longer Marie -glad to hear that everyone seems to be getting better there. I'm sure it will be nice to get them back to sleeping through the night!! It is nice that you can have so much time off with your family for the holidays. With my job I probably will be able to be fairly flexible when the time comes for us...I'd like to be a stay at home mom but i'm not totally sure it would be the best thing for us financially. Stacy -I hope you survived redoing the safety books! I had to do that once with my last job -it was at a manufacturing company. It was soooo dull, especially because I have no idea what most of things were and what they used them for. By the way, I also call it a stocking cap or hat LOL!!!! Mckenna, Darci & b- I hope you survived your holidays. Ta-Ta for now ![]() |
