I am finished with Christmas Shopping for the kids.I got Brooklynn a basketball goal,which she will love.She loves to play ball.I think she will be our little athlete!!Also got her a set of drums,a trainset,a keyboard,teddy bear,Dora dolls,educational toys and books.She is going to love the musical instruments.She uses anything to play drums.She uses pencils to toothbrushes........He bdad was a drummer,which may explain some of that!!
I got Chelsea several Polly Pocket Stuff,gameboy games,a pottery wheel,cd's,a video camera for kids,scrap book stuff,Barbie dolls and the American Idol recording studio....Jacob wanted a ton of Bionicle Toys....Have you heard of them??He is crazy over them.....I had to buy the entire fortress......
He is getting a scooter,a lava lamp,a karate necklace/charm,some kind of air hog car set,nintendo games,cd's, and books about sharks and animals...He is so into reading now which is great.
Now I need to start shopping for everyone else....It feels good to get the kids shopping done though!!

Hi everyone!

Thanks for your suggestions. RIght now I am not making any committments regarding visits. I rather them be at our own discretion and when we can do it. I don't even want to commit to making those visits part of the Christmas tradition because I don't always stay in this province for Christmas. In the coming years we are hoping to go elsewhere to spend Christmas with other family members. I would not have the time to follow through on committments if I make them. So for now, we are going to focus on our family needs.

There is more to the story with my daughter's grandparents. They adopted my daughter's birth mother as a baby and when they had problems with her as a teen, they sent her back.(signed the documents giving up their rights) Anyway, some can argue that they have no legal rights to my daughter. They were given a choice to adopt her but decline because they did not want to adopt her brother too. It's a long messy story.

ANyway, I decided that my focus will be on what my daughter needs and what will work with our family. I am not committing to any visits with them because they are being pushy. This is not the first time they have done this. The point it, our family plans does not surround them. I am not in need of finding family or people to be around. I guess being a single person would also give them this impression. Anyway that's it. I am taking a stand and if they don't like it, then that's their choice.

I want to respond to everyone's notes but I need to put my daughter to bed. Tonight we went out to celebrate the finalization. My friend and her family were quite nice and blessed us with dinner; all 8 people. We took some pictures of the evening. Also, we visited another friend to tell her about the finalization and found out that she is pregnant. Her first little one was adopted; he is a year and a half. I am quite excited for them.

Good Morning everyone, it's so nice to see some posts on here when I get here in the morning. I remember about a year ago we were telling people to slow down cause we couldn't keep up with all the writing. Now we're lucky to see one post every two days.

Anyway, thanks to Mckenna she got us all going.

Stacie, it looks like your kids are going to have a wonderful christmas. I know what you mean about drums cause asher used to use everything for drums before we got him one. We are getting the boys guitars for christmas, they both love them.

Jess, I'm so excited for you. If you have time, post us some pictures of Ivy's room, we'd love to see them. Did you watch Survivor last night? I was sad that Brandon got booted off, I really wanted Jaimie to go home. I was happy about the Apprentice though. It was about time that marcus got kicked out of there.

Jewel, You have to decide what you want to do for your family, no one can tell you what's right, the only one I would listen to would be A. If she really wants to see her grandparents then I would probably try, but if not then no big deal. With Nicolas and his foster parents it's hard too cause we don't really see eye to eye but that's ok. I just let him go for a visit and then we don't have to interact. I know that they aren't going to do anything to hurt him so I'm not worried about it.

Muriel, I can't believe you have that much snow, we don't have any yet. This is the first year since I've lived in Alberta that there wasn't any snow for Halloween. It was nice but my husband has already started crying about snow to go sledding. His skiidoo is just sitting there waiting to be ridden. LOL

Anyway, I'd better get some work done.

Ok, I think we know who the lucky kids are this Christmas!!! My word Stacie - you really do Christmas up BIG with LOTS of presents!!! WOW!

Stacy, I felt so sad for Brandon last night too - he seemed like such a nice guy...everyone seemed to feel bad...well, everyone but Jamie...what a total jerk he is!! YUCK...I have been totally unimpressed with him for quite awhile. I was kind of annoyed with Bobby Jon too, but seeing how awful Jamie was made Bobby Jon seem a little better last night. I like Dani and Gary...they are probably my favorites at this point. They just seem like nice people as opposed to Jamie and Judd who seem like total moron/jerks. I like Stephani too but I wish she wasn't aligned with those jerks...she is smart though - better to align with jerks because noone will give them the million!

The Apprentice was funny...I am SO glad Marcus is gone - can't believe he lasted as long as he did. But Clay was terrible last night - SOOOO inappropriate. I wish they both could have been fired.

Not much new here...my in-laws are coming to visit this weekend, so that should be fun. Have a good one everybody! - Jess
