Morning all.

Well, it's my first morning as a legal mommy. I don't feel any different than I did yesterday morning.

No, I didn't cry at the adoption. My mom cried like a baby though. I thought it was funny that we didn't even have to sign anything. The judge just asked us a few questions and that was about it. Then we got pictures with her. I will try to post one of my daughter on this post, but I have never done it before, so we will see.

McKenna -- the former foster (F) mother basically is a freak. My daughter has told me that F drank beer for breakfast. My daughter, at the age of just barely 3, was having to fix her own breakfast (toaster waffles). F beat up her husband and his biological daughter (age 16 and my daughter's bio half sister). She cussed out the social workers and neglected my daughter by just putting her in front of the TV all day. They never brushed my daughter's teeth (they were rotting out) -- she didn't even own a toothbrush!! Pretty much all they fed her was junk food (they've admitted this). F had my daughter sleep in bed with her every night and when my daughter was 2 F dislocated her shoulder. F was taking my daughter to see her bio father when he was supposed to have NO contact. We believe my daughter was sexually abused by her half sister's bf or at least witnessed sexual activity while F was in the house. There is just so much stuff that went on in that house. F was arrested multiple times for DV. Basically DCFS really screwed up. My daughter was with those people for nearly 2 years and DCFS didn't do a background check on them until this past May. Well, ever since my daughter was taken from them (they picked her up at daycare so my daughter wouldn't have to witness F being a spaz yet again), F has been going into the DCFS office at least 2-3 times a week and calling constantly demanding that she get to meet with them and make a plan to get my daughter back. Well, as all of you know, if you are convicted of DV you are unable to adopt. F just doesn't get it. We did a "goodbye" visit with the foster father and the half sister in July. F was not allowed to attend because she refused to agree to the rules. The rules were simple -- She couldn't tell my daughter that she (F) was always going to be her mom and she couldn't tell my daughter that DCFS "stole" her from them. Now F and her husband are trying to bribe us to do a visit with them. They have all of my daughter's baby pictures. They said we can have them (along with pictures of bmom and bdad and extended family) if we will do a visit. We still aren't sure what we want to do. Anway, enough about that.

I'm sorry I missed yesterday's quiz. Maybe it is a good thing tho, I don't think I would have done very well. Those questions were HARD!

I have to go for now...let's see if I can actually post a picture of my girl. Will be back later I'm sure.

I'm glad I'm not missing out by not having Target, I was feeling sorry for myself for a while. LOL

About my sister, I had to make a choice to totally erase myself from her or just be a bigger person then her and that's what I chose. It's hard when you have someone in your life that is always spreading poison everywhere, you have to figure out how to deal with them.

she is just beautiful!! what an awful story about her foster mom and holding her history hostage for a visit. that is shameful. i always think about the photo thing with older children. they just miss out on so much of thier history if there are no photos. i still get sad that i don't have hospital picutes of tommy and i only missed the first 3 months of his life.

you didn't have to sign anything. you have to sign when you buy a new house or even a car, how strange??

What an awful story Darci. But what a beautiful little girl!!! Thank you for sharing that with us. Hope things resolve with the scary people - can DHS step in at all and get those pics for you? What an awful trade off! I would be very concerned. Could the visit be supervised by someone from DHS? I don't think I'd do it otherwise. YIKES! Well, I am sure glad that little girl of yours is with you now and not in that terrible situation! Congrats again!

Darci you have a beautiful daughter, what a sweetie! I love that she's holding a cabbage patch doll, I had one of those when I was little. I'm so sorry about all the trama she's been through in her life. At least you have each other now and I know you've said it's been hard at times but when she grows up she'll know who was there for her and who loved her all these years.

About the pictures, I can't believe she's holding them hostage. What a B*%@$! Sorry there's no other word for someone like that. She's only punishing your daughter. If it were a supervised visit then I might do it but she would have to hand over the pictures to the supervisor before she even got a peek at her. That sounds bad but I wouldn't trust her. It would only be a short, very very short visit also.

Anyway, I'll stop freaking out now. LOL

Darci..Your daughter is so gorgeous..Sorry to hear her birthmom is a freak. Some people may not agree with me but F doesn't even deserve to see your daughter right now..I wouldn't do the trade off of her seeing your daughter and getting the pictures back at this time..I think your daughter doesn't need that kind of pressure right now. You are her mom now!! She needs to get help first..And drinking a beer at breakfast and your little girl having to make her own breakfast??? Totally sick to me!!
