hi all!!
No Asher yet???? I still have a few more hours until I'm out ![]() I had to work this morning, blah, blah, blah but I did find out that I don't have to work at Thermotron this week YAY!!! Just one job this week although since it is the beginning of the month I work a couple of extra short days. So my company has gone home which is good & bad- good that I get my house back, bad that my sister is not around. Plus when I talked to her today to see how her trip went, she tells me....she's pregnant!!! She only found out today but she has no concerns about it since her other two were really smooth (except for the morning sickness). Add another one to my list of people I know....I think we are up to 9 people. :surprise: Since it is my sister, I'm doing fairly well with it, along with the fact that I'm getting used to hearing this news now. It is just adding a little to my lack of patience on waiting LOL!!! Stacy- the name of that book was " Girl in Trouble" by Caroline Leavitt. It is a relatively new release and I had to request it at the library because they were all checked out. It was pretty good. It is fiction and there were parts where I didn't like how she portrayed both the birth mom and the adoptive mom. But I also saw some of my own feelings in the adoptive mom. mckenna- question for you- do you know when they expect to have that website up and running? I'd like to check it out ![]() Jess- good to see you around. How goes the work on the basement? Have you had any calls about your house yet? Cathy- Sounds like you had a nice anniversary! Also sounds like Sean is keeping you pretty busy hehe!! Cristina- did you find an Easter dress yet for your peanut? How about any luck on scanning the pictures of her? Marie- sorry to hear that Justin's clinic visit did not go as well. I never had to stop chemo because of low counts, only when I had chicken pox...then I had to go back into the hospital until they were gone, plus I was in isolation since they are so contagious. b- what a frustrating thing about the names! I hope they end up letting you use a name you like. Hi to those of you who have not checked in yet! TTFN

hey everyone! Sorry I missed the party around here this afternoon - Kaden was napping in here, and I didn't want to wake him...I was being so lazy and playing my xbox!!!
But it was sure fun.Erin, thanks for asking about our house...yes, the plumber and electrician finished everything and the framers and insulators are working this week and sheetrock is all next week! We are so excited! But no, not a single phone call! I think we have had about 40 fliers taken though, so who knows...I hope!Erin, ouch - I don't know THAT many pregnant people, but the shower I was at yesterday had 3 of them and that was a little tough for me, so I can empathize with you! I am glad it is easier to take though, when it is your sister. ![]() Cathy, I would LOVE to party at your house! ![]() McKenna - that is SO awesome about only 2 accidents all weekend long - that is MAJOR progress! YAY! I have a baby crawling all around my feet right now...this is hilarious. Oh Cathy and Stacy those were all hilarious names!!! I don't know any that funny! Oh our little neighbor girl is Stormy Knight...I think that is kinda funny. Well have a good Monday night everyone. Jason is at school tonight for Capture the Flag for spirit week, so we are on our own...I think it's time for more xbox! ha! ![]() |

B:
Even with a baby, you will need to put meds in a safe place, so although I understand your mom’s reactions, safety comes first. Beside, meds should be placed in a higher up cupboard anyway, especially when someone is taking that much medication. It is a safety thing and I would not want someone to take the wrong meds accidentally. So let your mom know that she needs to be safe, even with herself. I can understand that they are used to doing what they want, but they must remember what it was like when they raised their own children not so long ago. Regarding the name thing, I truly understand where you are coming from. I understand that you want to give them a new identity with their new life. However, since I will be placed in a similar situation with adopting a child between the ages of 5 – 10 years old, I have to respect that child the same way that I would like them to respect me. For that child the name will be the only original thing that ties them to their past with their birth family. Although their home life did not work out and now they will find a forever family, they need some grips of their past because it creates that identity for them. I understand that this may not be what you want to hear, but I am going to say it anyway. That child’s history makes up who they will become some day. I pray that they will be able to heal from it, but for some kids, they will look back at their past as a reminder of how far they came(grown) with their new blessed family, also use their past as a reminder or a challenge to never become what that parent represented to them. Nevertheless, sometime in their future, they may choose to investigate their past, etc, and having the name part will remind them of their heritage. It is not for us as the forever family to criticize what name their were given because that is what they are known as. However, you can choose to add or change a middle name, but the first name, well in my opinion should be left. This is an area that I have to grow in during the fall months because naming a child is very important to be. But I had to learn not to try and erase where that child will come from, but rather embrace them now with love and help them to become the person they are meant to be. I hope this is of help. This part is intended as someone who is adopting a school age child and the fact that I experienced two name changes, one when I was in my early teens, and another when I was in my early 20’s. The first part of the name change was not a good experience although it was something that I knew was going to happen for several years. However, the second part worked well, but my biological family is still having a hard time with it. I guess the good thing is one set of people call me by my middle name, while the other set call me by my first name. Anyway, all is well in the name world.

good morning.
i think my son is officially pee trained. he still asks for a diaper to poop in but always pees on the potty!!! yah!! ok, i got some good advice on how to keep lilly's hair looking nice between washes. this morning, i braided her hair, using vasiline (i had not thought of that). it looked so cute! can you tell i am proud of my self. her teacher even said i did a good job! erin, the website should be done sometime this summer, but when i have an exact date, i will let you know. sorry about all the pregnant people, i can only imagine how you feel. when my sister had her ultra sound pictures, i was a little jealous, cuz even though i would not trade tommy for the world, i wish i could have had those same moments with him. hope you hear some news soon. jess, you make me feel so old when you talk about playing video games, they just give me a head ache! jewel, marie, michelle, barb, christina, lam, b, and stacy good morning.

Wow, only getting online in the morning leaves me with a lot of posts to catch up on! OK, we had to take James in yesterday, he was breathing really hard and fast, and they tried to do a pulse ox at first and did it wrong, so they got scared, scared the crap out of me, and then they listened to him breathing and saw he was getting air through! But my little guy has an albuterol puffer now. He has been wheezing with colds 3 different times now, so they think it is asthma that is virus induced. He also had an ear infection, so he should be on the road to recovery now. If only Ashlee were so easy. So far the tests look fine for her stool sample. Something could still come up, but I thought it would jump right out at us and we could treat it. One nurse said she might have just cleared everthing out and is having a tough time getting back in sinc. Usually we would give her yougurt, but she is having problems with dairy, so I got some supplements that she can chew for the...oh, I can't spell it, I can barely say it, the good stuff that is in yougurt. So we wait.
So, the big news, no Asher yet! Today is Dr. Suess's birthday, wouldn't it be funny if he was born today? B, that is frustrating about your child's name. I don't understand why you weren't informed about this before. I understand you being sad about your mom. Since she has watched your sister's kids, it is hard to think that she won't have the same bond, but just give it time. Who knows, just because it isn't going to work for now, doesn't mean it won't ever work. I would just take it one step at a time. Mckenna, that is funny about Tommy peeing outside. I had a little boy in daycare once who would just whip it out and go whenever. His grandma had him downtown Portland one day, and there he went! On another note, I just read your post on the transracial adoptions about Walmart having a knockoff for Eucerin cream. I am so excited, cuz that gets expensive! Erin, I sure hope that all these pregnant people mean that your little one is going to be surrounded by friends his/her age. (maybe he will even come first) The hard part about adoption is not knowing when it will be your turn. I'm glad this one is easier on you though. Jess, that is exciting news about how the house is coming along, hopefully the calls will start coming soon about selling it. So does this longing for a girl mean that you are thinking about starting again? It's hard when you know it could take a long time, but then again it could be quick and you could have 2 that are only 1 year apart (Cathy can tell you all about it though!) Cathy, sorry you had a little too much the other night! But it is nice to be able to get out and be with grown ups sometimes! Marie, that is so funny when they can't quite roll over yet! Ashlee would roll from her back to her tummy, but then got stuck. She would scream in the middle of the night, like someone came in and put her on her tummy and she was not happy about it! I finally dug out that sleep positioner and she was fine! Christina, no dress yet? so is it a sure thing yet about watching that baby? How old is she? It could be fun for your little peanut to have a playmate! Oh my, how the time flies, I need to go get Ashlee up!
