My name is Stacy and my dh and I are looking to adopt. We have lost two little girls in the last two years. The first we lost right after birth and the doctor's ruled it "respiratory failure". We were devastated, but knew we had to try again, so we did. Our second daughter who just passed away a few weeks ago, lived for six and a half weeks. She was in the hospital that whole time and it was found that she had Nemaline Rod Myopathy, a very rare muscular disease. They went back and looked at the muscle slides from our first daughter and it was found that she had the same thing. It is genetic and so my dh and I have decided that it's too risky to try to have another baby together. Burying two children is very hard and we just can't take that chance again. I feel that my dh and I are not meant to have our own children, but to help another child, and so we are entering the world of adoption. I hope to get to know you all well and I'm sure I will learn alot and have a lot of questions.
Thanks for reading about my story and I look forward to becoming a part of this little community. Stacy |

Hi Stacy and welcome to the forum. My sincere sympathy on the loss of your two little girls. What a tragic story. I hope you find support, understanding and some helpful information here.
There was an article in the local paper recently about a woman that lost her son. I found her words very meaningful. She said that a person could choose to let an experience make them bitter or to make them better. Seems to me that you are choosing to not only let your sad experience make you better but also to give a better life to a child that needs a home. Bless You and Your husband. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and hope you find joy.
