stepfather wants to adopt
my husband wants to adopt my son and I want to do as much as we can by ourselves to save money. my son is 6 and has never seen his bio father. where do we start? (Texas)

My mothers husband adopted me. You should give it careful thought. What might feel right to you now might hurt the child later on.

I don't think it's fair of yu to try to discourage these adoptions. I see a lot of negative posts from you about it. Myabe your experience was bad, but that odesn't mean they all will be.
BTW, my husband is adopting my 2 sons from a former marriage. The kids have wanted it for a while now and so has my husband. He is the only dad they have ever known, although they have had contact with the bio dad. Adoptoion is a good thing for many familues, it's not fair of you to lump those together with your bad experience.
