What steps do I need to take for adoption?

My son's father relinquished rights in Jan of 99. I am getting married soon and my fiance and myself would like to do the adoption at the same time or at least have it in the process. I don't have much money and wondered if there is a way we can file papers ourselves and save from the lawyer fees, since it will be an uncontested adoption.
