What to do?!?

A couple of years ago my boyfriend adopted his ex-wifes daughter. They had been divorced for three years at the time but he stayed in touch because he loved her daughter like she was his own. Well since the adoption it's been one nightmare after another. No type of custody papers were ever made establishing custody or visitation or child support. She wont allow him visitation even though he pays child support. Its like she's using the child as a form of income for her. So what I was wondering is what is legal? Can she legally keep the child away from him? Its a very weird situation and if ANYONE has any ideas or suggestions ......

If there is nothing legal set for CS or visitation then yes she can prevent visitation, but in the same respect, he is not legally obligated to pay support and any monies he gives her is/will be considered a gift if an order is ever made.

The only way to ensure his rights is to file for visitation.

If this was an official, legalized adoption, then HE is the father. As such, he is now the non-custodial parent, obligated to pay cs and resposible for visitation. It would seem rather cold to me if he now refuses to visit with the child. Maybe he is regretting his desicion to adopt?

Kinda need more info there. I don't understand from your post if he wants to see the child, or he wants to not pay support.
