Setting Aside a Step parent Adoption
About 5 years ago My exgirl friend got married and they wanted to adopt my Daughter, there was a lot of things going on between us and at the time it seemed right, Well they got divorced and now the My Dauhter is living with me ( She had a lot of problems, Therapist suggested she see me and now she's living here) Well I did a lot of research to figure out how to undo the step parent adoption and came up dry, Well A lawyer here in town said he could handle it with a Adoption in the 5th degree well now the problem is that Michigan (thats where we all live) will not allow 2 single people to adopt.. So Now we either have to Try and get the original county to Override the age for an adult adoption or for me and my wife to adopt her.. The mother and step parent signing off.. then later to do an adult adoption..
Can someone help or point me in the right direction??? |

I don't have any direct answers to your question, but I want to commend you on your choices and how well you seem to be handling it.
