step parent adoption

I know that the bio father will object to it, but there has to be a loophole otherwise for the welfare of the children. I mean him showing up and wanting to be dad breifly, then dissapears for a few months. It is not fair to the children and leaves me feeling a void as well. Even though the kids call me dad and everything. The kids need a full time dad who loves them and provides not only financial support, but emotional as well. Any comments or thoughts or suggestions... Thanks

Even if the father has sporadic contact or visitation as long as he is still financially supporting the child/children then the courts will not allow the adoption without his consent. Just some advice so you don't get your hopes up.
