Self Stepparent Adoption help is here!!

Self Stepparent Adoption help is here!! After spending many hours researching, I have finally found some help.

Go here www.jud6.org/.../Checklists/ checklist%20step%20adopt%20of%20minor%20w%20consen t%20or%20personal%20svc.pdf for a checklist for all the forms that you need and the steps that you need to take. This list helps everything make sense.

Go http://flcourts.org and go the "family law forms" link. Scroll down almost to the very bottom, and there is a section for FL adoption papers. There are a few that arent on the checklist, but if you do a search in Google or whatever for the docement number, then you will get a link for it. Each of the forms comes with instructions and when/if/why you need it.

If you have to do an adoption where the other biological parent is in another state, you do everything the way that FL says. For instance, if you send a consent form to the other parent in TX, then you use the FL form. When they sign it infront of a notary, then the notary makes the applicable changes. I had to call the courthouse to find that one out. I hate laywers. They dont wanna help, they just want your money. BUT if you have a special case and you do need legal help and cant afford it, contact your local "Department of Children and Families" and ask them for the phone number of the nearest "Community Legal Services Dept." They can give you legal help for free or at a reduced rate based upon your income and other financial information.

I hope this offers help to anyone out there who is doing a stepparent adoption pro se also. I wish all of you the best of luck. If anyone has a question, please feel free to email me direct at beccalina@gmail.com
