I would like to adopt my wifes children and she as well as the kiddos want me too. We have two one girl who is 4 and one boy who is 3 whom I love dearly and we have one of ours on the way soon. They already call me daddy. We have talked with the children about it and they wish to be adopted, the problem is there father. He does not want anything to do with them, he does not pay child support, he is willing to sign them over however he has no permanent residence or a job and no way to get ahold of him. once in a great while he ends up at his mothers house just to get money from her or to take something but then disapears again with no way to get a hold of him. Is there anyway my wife and I can get around that and adopt without his signiture?
