foster/adopt question
we have been fp's before in another state but have just started the process here. we met two teens who are in relative placement through dss, they want to come live with us, and we want them here but the cw won't talk to us about it until we're licensed. the problem is, the relative wants them out asap, and it looks like they're going to go to a group home...isn't there a way to speed up the process when there are time constraints? is it possible to ask the judge to place them with us rather than sending them to the group home...this just doesn't make sense. we always hear that older kids are hard to place, well if that's true why not take advantage of the fact that they already have someone who wants them. in addition the cw told me that once we're licensed she can't guarantee that we'll get these kids. why would she want to put them with strangers when they already know where they want to be, aren't they old enough to have some sayso in the matter...it just seems like we're wasting what little they have left of their childhood bouncing them around senselessly...any advice or tips will be greatly appreciated

I know here in Ohio if you have child/children that you know you want in your home they put a rush on your paper work you get Priority over everyone else. I had everything finished from classes, homestudies, fire inspection, everything done in 20 days. Might want to ask cw if it is the same there. Hopefully this helps
