Anyone from South Carolina?
Starting foster/adopt classes tomorrow through DSS. Hoping to talk to SCarolinians about the process and if anyone had been through it. Is there anyone else out there going through the same thing?

It's still me again, hoping for people from South Carolina to respond. We've finished all classes, inspections and homestudy. Waiting on references to return paperwork to be approved! Won't be long now hopefully. We are hoping to foster/adopt newborn to 3yrs, any race, boy OR girl. Would like to talk with other SC people about their experience with Foster/Adopt.

DH and I are in upstate SC adopting through DSS. We were approved Feb 15. Open to adopt sibling group of up to four ages to twelve.

SC Foster care
My DH and I are getting our homestudy done today. Its been along process and DHEC now wants to come back out again to do a lead test. I don't know why they didn't do it the first time they came out. I don't know how much longer we have to wait.

I am in SC, along the NC border(Charlotte). My husband and I plan to begin the paperwork(to foster to adopt) as soon as he comes home from his deployment. I'd love to hear advice from others from SC.

Good luck with your first placement! I've been approved for adoption since August 2007 and am now beginning the process of becoming licensed to foster. It is such a long process but it'll all be worth it in the end!

Hi, do you have any kids yet? We took the classes in May and are still waiting. I think that everything is done now accept the actual license. Good Luck

I do not have any kids yet but I hope that'll change soon! My case worker comes next week to do the update for my homestudy.
