Anyone in Virginia or Maryland???
I was hoping I could search all users to see who was in Virginia or Maryland but there isn't an option like that...
So is anyone in Virginia or Maryland? I'll be out there in just about 13 days and will start fostering about 2 months after I settle in and was looking to ask some questions and get info from anyone who's already working with the foster care system out there... Thanks!

I live in VA and I know you have to be in your home for at least 6 months before they will certify you though in my county.
Not a written rule, but a rule of thumb. Good Luck!

what county are you in? I'm going to be in Fairfax... I already spoke with Alexandria SWs and I asked for 2 months to settle in and she said that was fine (she didn't seem to want to wait but wasn't pushing it...) Also spoke with 2 private orgs. in the county and no one mentioned having to wait - I was the one who wanted time....

I live in S. VA, I know that they really need foster parents in Alexandria (one of the SW's here used to work there and she said that the need is so great for foster parents) and the D.C. metro area.
