homestudy w/o interviews

Our homestudy process has been a nightmare. At present it has been ongoing for 2 months. Everytime the worker claims it is finished, he calls us back saying his supervisor found another form we need to fill out, etc. We have written the answers to pages of questions, but never been interviewed. In fact, we have only been ASKED about 4 questions. The homestudy was supposedly complete, we signed off on it and all, a couple weeks ago. Of course, he has come back with more forms since then. Does this process ever end? Having read the supposedly finalized homestudy report, I'm terribly unhappy with it. It has a positive recommendation, but if I read the report and it didn't include the names of family members I probably wouldn't know it was written about us. Is there anything that can be done, or should I just shut-up and keep filling out forms, and hope for the best?

You did not state whether you were going through a private agency or your local county office? Either way I would contact a supervisor and not stop till you get all of your questions answered. We have adopted twice, been foster parents, and are in the process of having our homestudy done again b/c we want to adopt again. This is the 4th time we have had a homestudy done and we are really just having an update done, but they state law requires them to come to our home for a minimum of two visits. I think you are being given the run around. Good luck!

where do I find out about what you need for a homestudy? I will start gathering this information before I contact an agency so I won't have to go through the same thing as bluebonnet_72. Where do I find out information on everything I need to do to get qualified? What I need for my home? Dogs? Background?

When you start your training someone will tell you what you need. I live in Arkansas and they didn't even want most of my paperwork untill we finished our training.
