Foster adoption
Hi all
I Live in Virginia Beach, I am starting my foster parenting training tomorrow through Virginia Beach social services. Do I have to go through another agency or additional training to become a foster adopt parent or are they the same thing? If I become a foster parent to a child, who's parents terminate their rights will I have a chance to adopt that child? I am also looking in to fostering/adopting special needs children and I would be interested in hearing from others who have done so. Nicola |

We're in Northern VA. After we went thru PRIDE training we were certified for both foster and adopt thru our county.

We are in N. VA also and finished PRIDE training. What you need to do is say you will be a "Resource Family" That means you are open to adopt your foster child if he or she becomes available... Peace and Joy
