Exclamation Alabama State House (Escott speaking)

WE NEED YOU TO BE A VOICE FOR YOUR CHILDREN, YOURSELVES AND OUR FUTURE FOSTER FAMILIES!!!!!!!

God has opened a large door for anyone wanting to voice their thoughts on what is going on in our foster care system.

Senator Escott is heading this in the House chambers. We need to fill the chambers and gallery.

Wednesday March 30, 2005. House chambers at the Alabama State House from 1:00-3:00

Many of you have been waiting for a long time to speak out. Please plan to attend and spread this news to any foster parent, birth parent, or anyone you know involved or associated with the Foster Care System.

One of the many concerns is that the Foster Parents Bill of Rights is not being taken seriously by DHR. Many of our foster children’s needs are not being met and many of our youth want to speak out, please bring them. Our children speaking will make the biggest impact of all.You need to be getting in touch with your legislators asking them to attend that day. Elections are coming up. Your voice is one vote!!!!!Make copies of what you are speaking about. Give it to the legislatures so they will have something to refer back to.Anyone not wanting to talk but has something they wished to be read bring it.We need real life experiences of what the system is doing to our families and children.

Please make your stories as general as possible. Please DO NOT include children’s names, birthdays or any other identifying information that will break confidentially!!!!

If anyone needs to find your legislature go to: Alabama information, government, legislatures, members. You can get phone numbers and addresses. If you need additional information please contact Harriet Parr 256-315-1717 afpa@bellsouth.net or Linda Williams 205-655-7658 alafapa@aol.comT
