I got my nephew from Colorado in July by way of foster to adopt. He is almost a year old. Do you get foster care payments to help out? I had him without any assistance for 5 months. Will i get any back time assistance? The process from Colorado to Mississippi is so slow and long. I have called and called the case worker in Colorado buut it's still slow. Anyone out there in my shoes? Please Help Mississippi Auntie

You didn't give enough information to know and every state is different. Are you a relative placement for foster care only, foster/adopt or ICPC adoption only. You won't get back payments but you might qualify for payments now. I'd call te socail worker. If she does not get back to you in three days call her supervisor.

I got him from Arapahope DHS in July. I am a relative foster to adopt from Mississippi. His mom is in jail and this process has been long.
