I want to be a fostermom.....where do I start?
Hello all,
I live in Burnsville, MN and I want to start being a fostermom. I have three kids ages 11, 7, and 4. Where can I get started? Gena

Go to your local DHS (Department of Human Services). Tell them you are interested in fostering and they will give you all the info you need for your area. You will start off going to an orientation. Then you start the classes, application, homestudies and then once it all is completed (about 2-3months) once your home is open you can be placed with your first child or children.
