congrats ann

Ann:
that is very exciting. I am so happy for you. Why did it take so long though. I was just asking another fm why it was taking her so long. I thought that in the state of Maine the parents only had a certain amount of time to get them selves straight and if they didn't do it within that time then they were tpr'd. I am just getting involved with the foster/adopt program and it makes me a little nervous. Not because I would be afraid that the child would go home. That is a risk we all know we are taking. Besides that is their child and not mine. The thing that bothers me most is if a child can remain in the system for nearly 4 years, how is that in the best interest of the child. Was your fd having visits with bp's?
I know that once the adoption is final, you will know that it was all worth it. It just seems so sad for the children to not have that permanancy. I live in Maine too and I was hoping for better than that.
Thanks for listening to me ramble.....(lol)

Hi

Tracey, If you read my story, that will explain some of our situation. After trying re-unification with parents for over a year, they decided to give up their rights. It was DHS that was the slow part. paper work sitting on desks, was the longest part. then state police lost our fingerprints and had to re do them. By the way our little one is a blood relative, and made live twice as difficult!
