Smile Approved in Ohio and Looking

My DH and I are recently approved to foster/adopt in Ohio. I am an elementary school teacher and my husband is in broadcasting. We are very interested in finding a smaller child such as an infant or toddler to love and raise. Our approval and license is through the county DJFS. Although they are very helpful and thorough, their listings and pictures are very outdated. It seems as though each child we choose from their listings is already placed in an adoptive home. This is quite frustrating as you can imagine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

May God bless you all in your journeys through any aspect of adoption!

good luck, Jacki. You're just joining the fun! Expect the worst and maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones to have a positive experience quickly.

As for us, two, plus years and fifteen foster babies come and gone, we're still waiting. We've been proactive, searching the photolistings, making inquiries and such, but we're still not matched.

Don't want to bring you down, but be prepared.

Best of luck in Ohio. Friends of ours were approved this past summer for Fostering and they have been blessed - as we all have - by a beautiful little girl who brings light wherever she goes. There are many children in Ohio that need help. Thank you for offering it.

PS - I'm also in broadcasting.

Llicensed foster/adopt parents to be

Hi. My husband and I have just submitted for our license in Ohio. We are very excited and nervous!! Can't wait for our first placement!

We are fostering/adopt children birth to 6 years old and will accept a sibling group of up to 3! Since, I have only one set of friends who have fostered, I have little knowledge of what to expect. My friends were licensed in November, had a sibling placement in January and their adoption was finalized this past summer (less than year from their placement).

Tell us about your stories!

Thanks!
