I have wanted to become a foster parent for many years now, and My Husband has chosen a career as a municipal police officer. Does any one know if this is considered a conflict of interests? Or even possibly a disqualifying factor in becoming foster parents?

Your best bet is to take the classes and apply with DHS. I don't know why this would prevent your family from providing Foster Care.... It might mean that your family would not have placments of children your husband has a direct involvement with---such as a family he arrested a member of for domestic violence maybe those children in that household should not be placed with you...
But there are many families who is some way are involved with the lives of children then end up fostering---as long as you have a stable houshold Foster Families are much needed....if anything your husbands job might actually make your home an eaven safer place for children in crisis.....
