Mysticah

Yes, I have three bio boys and DH has 5 kids. We cant have any children together so we talked about it and decided there were plenty of kids that needed a place to call home.

Tonight is the big homestudy.... I dont know why this part makes me so nervous.. I just want it to all go ok....

You were correct

The 1st homestudy visit was a piece of cake, she was here longer than I had thought but all was good the only thing that we needed to change was where we kept our cleaning supplies.
Classes will be over in two weeks we have 4 of our references back but only one sent back any more references, so Iam not sure how this will effect the unsolicited references. The room is ready but havent put the bed in because dont know if the crib should go in or the toddler bed.

Hello again

Hi everyone,
I haven't written in quite awhile but thought I'd check back in to see how everyone was and if anyone had any exciting new updates. I see "eight..." has plenty to be excited about. Anytime now you'll be getting that call.
We have two little boys (brothers) we've had them since April and things are still going quite well.
We are about to go to court soon (permanency hearing)
If all goes the way we hope; my husband and I will have the sons we've always dreamed of...And they will have a forever family. We are very excited! I'll keep you all posted talk to you all later. Good Luck and God Bless to Everyone!

updates

Hello everyone, How has everyone been? Well to catch you all up, our permanency hearing was continued. Bummer, I know. We were told we have quite a long wait until we hear what we can expect next. So, we are just biding our time until then. Our boys are doing great and our daughter is looking forward to the day she can finally call them her brothers, although, they already act like siblings. We have had another addition to our home. We have a 1yr. old now too. His tpr is scheduled for the end of January and we are hoping to have him stay too. One BIG happy family huh? Keep your fingers crossed. Good luck to you all and God Bless!

Hope all is well with everyone and hope you all had a great holiday! We still have our little one with us he is now 7 months old and we have our TPR hearing in 3 weeks. Keep your fingers crossed. It sure has been a long drawn out process let me tell you. I will write back when court is over and let you all know how it is going.

Hello

It has been very interesting to read your processes. Dh and I live in MI but are in the process of hopefully adopting 2 siblings from the IA fostercare system. We are one of those relatives that come out of the woodwork, sorry I know how that is looked upon in the fostercare circles. Dh and I have done foster care in MI before (Not currently though) and during thanksgiving we just found out that my cousin had her children removed and that the TPR has already taken place (We haven't had anything to do with my cousin since I was very little). We would really like to adopt them. They are 6 and 9. Now it is a paperwork shuffle. We have to redo our homestudy and from there we will see what else they need for interstate.

Michelle

Hi Michelle, Well it's too bad about your cousin but it may just be a blessing in disguise. I hope all goes well for you and your family. If you've read any of my replies then you know we are hoping to adopt, as well, three little boys. Two of which are brothers. It has been a long, and sometimes rough nine months but hopefully within the next few weeks we'll get some news that will bring our journey to and end. Again I pray that all goes well for you and your precious new additions God Bless.

Thank you. Best wishes to you too. Hopefully, since the TPR has already taken place we won't have too many delays.

Cool Just Checkin in

Hey all
I just wanted to pop in and let ya know I am out here.... My hubby and I have graduated our PS MAPP Class a week ago and are ready to have our final portion of our home study on Feb 1. Our class only had 7 couples graduate. 2 Couples were there to foster their relatives, 1 couple there to foster adopt, 3 couples there to adopt and us straight foster care. Out of our class of 15 couples that is what was left. It was sad. We live in Council Bluffs for any that know where it is and I work for the State of Nebraska as a CPS worker.
Send me a message if you care to.

I'm happy to announce that our daughters adoption was final on Dec 7th ( which was DH's b-day) we did alot of emergency placements the first part of the year but now have another little girl that we have fallen madly in love with and hoping that TPR happens quickly this is the 3rd time mom has had her children in foster care.

Hope everyone is doing well.
