My husband has a daughter from a previous marriage and is living on her own. We did not have to ask her for any information. They are only interested in the people living in the home. If I recall there may be a question about providing support to them (like if they are in college).

I was in MAPPS classes with a lady who had a grown son also and she did not have to ask him for paperwork.

In NC and most other states, they will ask about family members and what they think about you doing foster care or adoption to see if you have a support system within your family. Other than that, they are only concerned about the people that live in your house. They want to make sure everyone in the house is for this, has TB test, physicals. You will learn all of this in MAPP classes.....but by all rights you should be talked to prior to MAPP class.
Good luck.......I have been a foster parent in NC for 20 having fostered 700 children and adopted one teenager.

Brenda, we are doing a legal risk adoption and/or foster to adopt an infant through DSS. We have finished our MAPPS classes and are in the homestudy process. If you have any questions about agency around NC I may be able to help. We looked into most of them!
