I'm a foster/adoptive Mom in Milwaukee... also the foster family recruitment coordinator for the children of Milwaukee County. I recently stumbled across this website and think it's a wonderful resouce for our foster and adoptive parents. The trick is getting word out about it.

I know our Governor's office is working on some sort of resource center initiative for WI foster/adoptive parents that would include a website such as this... but that's probably years down the road. In the meantime...

Hi all,
I am new to foster parenting and would love to know how the process has worked for others in WI. My husband and I just submitted our paperwork and will begin the homestudy process in about 3-6 weeks. Could anyone tell me where the children in the foster care program are from? Can you foster a child from anywhere in WI, US, or just your county specifically? We were viewing the adoptuskids.com site an found many children we would love to foster/adopt, however they were from other states. How does the whole process work in WI? Thanks for your help!
