My Wife And I are relocating to Northwest Mississippi from Northeast Ohio. We have been fosterparents for over a decadeand are at the beginning of an adoptive placement. The girl has been with us for 19 months as a foster placement. My question is how do we complete the adoption if we can't get licsened without completing the 1yr. residence requirement? They seem to stand fast on this time line. It doesn't seem to matter all experence and training that we have. Thank you for any help that you could give us. PAPA LYNN

We relocated from TN to AR. Our fosterdaughter, now 3yo, had been with us since she was 6 weeks old. TPR was inevitable and it was known we wanted to adopt her. They began ICPC procedures and called it Interstate foster placement. We were allowed to move, and take her, long before the ICPC process was copmpleted . When we arrived in AR, we had to be approved and licensed as foster parents in AR before we met ICPC approval. Hope this helps.
