Missouri adoptive parents

Hi,

Just clicked on to see if anyone had started a thread from Mo.

We live in Tuscumbia and we have adopted twice before and are on our third.

We would love to chat with anyone and offer help where we can.

God Bless,
Gloria Samuelson

O'kay, where is that town? I live in the KC metro area. I've never heard of your town. I've found Missouri pretty easy to work with, how about you?

Mo adoptive parents

Tuscumbia is about 30 min from Jefferson City. We are the county seat.

We had a baby girl from St. Joe area for six days the her mom wanted her back. we are heartbroken still to this day, we are praying she will call us and we can have her back.

Mo is ok to work with, not the state agencies, family services that is. we ahve never had any luck adopting thru them. How about you?

I've had good luck with adoptions through DFS but I adopted older children(8 and up). I know very little about infant adoption, sorry.

Missouri Adoptive families

Hi,

I am glad someone knows where we are at here in Tuscumbia.

We lived in Laurie for six yrs, we have only lived here for about eight months now. We managed Silver Sands Marine there on lk rd 5-29.

I also started the christian school there, it is still going well. Praise God!!!

Well, I hope we can help you, we are using A Loving Choice Adoption facilitator. They have several contracts you can choose from, and we have had the best of returns from them. Our first promise from God, and the one we are believing is coming home to us soon, took only about 72 hrs from the time we contacted them, now that is a miracle..

We are being matched up to several moms now, and trusting we will be contacted here in a few weeks. If you want to call me do so, 369-2252

Kansas City area

We live in MO, in the Kansas City area.

We have two girls right now that they are trying to find a home for them and their brothers. The ages are 8,9,10,12. We have had the girls for 2 yrs.

I have had a lot of luck adopting through MO, but as far as my foster girls case goes it has been screwed up from the start. Now we are sitting waiting for a family to be found only for DFS to mess it up over and over again.

Angry Missouri adoptive parents

Well we have been trying for some years now to adopt thru the dept of our state, family services that is and we have had zero progress. We are adopting privately again, we would take a child from any state but this is so frustrating to get them to do anything on your behalf,a nd they wonder why there are so many children unplaced and misplaced.

Midwest Foster Care and Adoption Association. It's a support group that works with the state to provide continued training. They've had judges, attornies, Gals, DFS supervisors and workers as guests for their meetings. They also provide support services for families such as places to get questions answered, help with hotlines or other parent/child/SW issues. They provide a clothes closet, food pantry and funiture and other things foster parents can use. They also help SWers find parents with openings to take emergency and long term placements. It's run by foster parents.
