Thanks for your reply! I had considered both these options but didnt realize that you didnt have to be Catholic and that KBHFC had an infant adoption program! We support KBHFC through our church, I will call them immediatly : ) Thanks again!

We also talked with Adoptions of Kentucky. I really liked the director, very nice lady, and I would have felt very comfortable working with her. I don't know if she is still there or not. If we had not talked with the owner/lawyer, Carolyn Arnett, we would have worked with them. Carolyn suggested several other places for us to try once my husband continued asking her questions about the fees. By suggesting lower cost and no cost places such as the state, she left me with the impression that we could not afford to adopt, which was not the case, the fees were not a problem, they were very reasonable. My husband was asking her about the fees and he did not understand what she was saying, so I guess she thought he was grilling her. It was the very first agency we talked with. Unfortunately, I think she felt like we were only concerned about the cost, which was not true. We ended up paying more by using KBHC.

well, here is the story and I welcome opinions from anyone and everyone. Sunday when the lady from the agency was supposed to meet us there was an ice/snow storm where she lives, it was only rain here. I understand that she didnt want to drive 60 or 70 miles in the snow but I would have appreciated a call. She said she had left my number at home in the confusion of loading her kids but I didn't even get an email until the next day. To me that is very unprofessional! And then I found out she hasnt placed any babies through her agency and hasn't been open but 8 months. So, now I am kind of leary and I am really leaning towards KBHC. Am I being too particular?
Thanks for listening Pat |

We used the United Methodist Homes for Children and Youth/Mary Kendall Adoptions in Owensboro for our home study (our actual adoption is intercountry) and they are fantastic. They have lower fees for Methodists sometimes, but you don't have to be Methodist to use them. good luck!
