Red face home visit ?

Has anyone ever had a homestudy done without a home visit? We have turned in a floor plan with sq. footage of our home and a drawing of emergancy exsits. It was inplied in our training that our home wasn't important as long as it is safe and we had plenty of room. We have filled out a ton of paper work. There was alot of questions about our personal feeling and stuff like that. We have also been told our paper work was given to someone to do our written homestudy. Does this mean no one is going to come to my house?

I think at least one home visit is required by law, no matter where you live. They have to verify that you actually live where you say you do, and confirm that its a relatively clean and safe environment. I live in Michigan, and the state requires TWO home visits, although the second one, for me, was just the worker popping in for a few minutes.

You might want to call your agency/worker and ask when someone will be coming out.

The liability if the worker did not go out would be huge. The home study has to describe the house and a recommendation of suitability for children, so the worker will more than likely do interviews in the office and/or home.

Someone from the state is suppose to call me today to let me know how everthing is going. IF she calls I will ask her. A few weeks ago I seen a state worker drive by my house (I was mowing the yard). I'm not sure if she was doing this to see where we live or if she was just looking for someone else. If I dont get a call today I will call next week to find out what is going on.
