Hmmm, it's a bit difficult to help you without knowing in general where you are going in K,C. KC missouri is one the largest cities in the US according to square millage. SO... see the Plaza on or after thanksgiving since the Christmas lights will be on. The Plaza is 15 minutes south of Downtown. Anyone can direct you there. Do have some Bar-B-Q. Smoke stack or Bryants. For steak the Golden Ox or Herferd House. Don't stay in "mid-town". The Westin Crown Center is a good place to stay (not cheep) but is in Crown Center (another popular up scale shoppinng and entertainmnet area). It is a block from Union Station. That's our old city train station now converted into a family oriented entertainment area (shops and "science City, and train museum). Let us know where in general you'll be so we can offer better suggestions. If you are coming with kids...take them to Kelidoscope (sp)!

thank you so much for your response!! we have no children yet, but i'm curious what kalidascope (sp??) is. union station and the plaza sound great! i think we will be in north kansas city for the birth, does that help? i may just see the pediatrician that assesses the baby in the nursery for the first visit if we are still up there (assuming all goes relatively as planned). what are the temperatures usually like at the end of december? i'm a floridian, so i have no clue!!! thanks again!!!

It can be very cold in KC in December, you'll get a shock if you live in Florida!!!!
