How is your process going?

On the roll call thread that Opus started there were a few of you that were just starting or in the process - how is it going? Jocelyn, TLM216, Niccum - anyone else?

This time last year I was going out of my mind waiting for a referral - I remember how tough the waiting was!
Hope it's going better for you all!

I'm glad you wrote here!

I'm adopting domestically. We started our process in February. Had several potential matches fall through. When we received the call about the pbmom we're matched with now, we were hesitant to get excited. Still hesitant. She sounds like a really sweet young woman and we really enjoy getting to know her. Her phone has been shut off for a few weeks, so we haven't heard from her. Our agency sent her some info last week to help her with getting her phone back on. She seems to be really sure of herself. And of course, I hope she is, and I hope she is okay with her decision. But if not, I know we'll be crushed, but hopefully we'll find the baby we are meant to be parents to.

We're trying to be "cautiously optimistic." We have great family support so we are fortunate.

Thanks for asking!!! I look forward to reading about other local people!!!

The waiting is definately the hardest part. I'm glad to hear that you have your family's support, Julie, because you need it. I don't know what my wife and I would have done without our families. They were there for the low points and there to share our joy for our son and daughter.

Its hard to believe that our son is turning 9 next month. It seems like it was not so long ago that we were picking him up at the hospital in a middle of a snow storm. Or that its been 3 years since we did the same with his sister on a beautiful spring day.

Best wishes...

Hi Opus,
Thanks for your words! I can't even imagine being a parent and having that feeling of "where did the time go?" Isn't it amazing how at the most important times in your life, you remember all the details, like the snowstorm and the spring day you had for both of your kids? It's so awesome.

Your words are encouraging! Thank you!

Julie

Ha! It is amazing how quickly you will start saying to yourself how quickly the time goes or how quickly your baby turns into a little girl (or boy). Everything you go through is so worth it in the end. We had some snags with our process as well - so I know that phrase "cautiously optimistic" - you know it's not over til it's over. Sounds you have a great attitude about it - that will help a lot with the waiting! Hope things continue to go well with the process.

Anyone else??? I see there are a few people viewing but not posting!
