We have had our foster license since May and are waiting for an adoption placement or at risk placement. We have not had any calls at all!! We are open about age, race, etc. and still no kids. We keep getting told that we need to understand they are a welfare agency with the primary goal of family reunification, not adoption. Duh, I didn't know that! So, anyone know of anything to do or anyone to contact? With so many kids waiting for a home in Hawaii and so few families wanting them, I just do not understand why our phone is not ringing off the wall. Patience is not my strong point, but I know that there is a child waiting to come home to us, we just want them here where they will be safe and loved. To top off the frustration we are feeling, our friends in IA have had their license for two weeks and have already had a phone call! Any advice is welcomed...Thanks!
