Hi everyone, new here.

We are in CT about 20 mins east of Hartford. We have one adopted son that just turned three! We used The Village for Families and Children to register with DCF but then Catholic Charities had a hard to place child (our son) and got our name from DCF. He is a special needs child.

We are registered again (since Oct 4th) with DCF for our second through The Village for Families and Children again. We might even register in a few local states too. I'm not quite sure how that works though. We also have toyed with doing a domestic adoption but I feel so scared we would not get picked or lose $$ and the cost is so much! I did just get some info from CARA in New London. I think I read someone used them for a home study? Anyone use them for domestic? It is easier to just sit here registered with DCF and wait but I'm not sure if that is the right path for us this time. Our son has many issues and I can't have another child like him - it would not be fair to him since he needs so much time and he needs a sibling that can be a good role model.

I would love to chat with anyone and maybe I can figure out what is the best path for us.

I am using them for my homestudy. The reason we are not using them for domestic is because they told us that they very rarely get domestic bmothers who come to them and our wait would be long. So we are adopting from TX. We have a little froup going under the thread below this called Hello CT! They are very nice at CARA and very helpful. I bombarded them with emails before even signing and they answered everythin perfectly. They are however keeping us on file incase someone does walk in looking for a family, but I won't hold my breath on that. We are adopting an AA/biracial newborn.

Hi!

As Tracey said we've begun a little group under "Hello, Connecticut"....you can join us there or here if you'd like!

My DH and I adopted our son through an agency in Utah. He is one years old now and we've all been together since he was born. Hope to hear more from you soon!

-Renee
