? about GA adoption law
my hubby and i are starting the adoption process. we want to find our own birthmother. i understand GA has a no advertising law, but i wonder if that includes sending our profile and a letter of our intent to find a birthmother to people we know-in our state and others? we want to try the word of mouth approach, but are unsure.
any info would be helpful, thanks Last edited by MEHarris : 09-07-2004 at 09:10 AM. |

Hi,
GA law will not let you advertise, but you can write letters and give them to people you know. Tell them to give to people they know and so on and so on. I will have to say that GA is a sad "state" when it comes to helping people adopt. I don't know if you need an attorney or not, but if you do, Our attorney is Birney O'Brian Bull. He is located in Sav. GA. His web site is birney@adooptneed.com He is wonderful. You can not place your letter, flyers or adoption cards in public places. only word of mouth. e-mail is a good source for word of mouth (so to speak) Good luck in your journey. Regina |
