Smile from Memphis

Hey, I am also from the Memphis area. My adopted little one is 2 1/2 years. Isn't adoption wonderful? Can't imagine her not being a part of our life.

So nice to meet you! Yes, it is wonderful and we also cannot imagine or even remember life before. Not that it was bad, it's just they become such a part of your lives and families it's like they were always there.
So, your little one is 2 1/2. How are the 2's? Tell me all about her~pm me if you want.

I'm from Memphis, too, and there actually are a lot of parents (probably everywhere) in Memphis who've adopted. My little girl turns 3 yrs old in August, but is still catching up on her talking since she's only been in the US since the end of August last year (she's from Russia originally).

She's super-active, very athletic, moving from the time she wakes up til she goes to sleep, curious, a climber, and so funny! She has really started talking a lot more the last 3 weeks or so.

Best wishes to you & your little one!

Rosemary (a different one from the one recently posting as Thor something or other)

Smile catching up on language

I am sorry it has taken me SO long to reply to you all. I can check this site easier at work, but I can't reply. Anyway...about the 2's they are busy and sassy at times at our house.

My little one is from Bulgaria and has been home almost 7 months now. She is also trying to learn to speak English. Rosemary, did they (physician) want your daughter evaluated for speech therapy? We are in the process of all this right now. They have said she is at about 24 months with speech. (Gee, I wonder why?) Did your daughter have speech therapy or has she just suddenly taken off just from being home? Does she go to daycare? They are telling me she needs to be at daycare more so she can be with the other kids that speak English and also for the structure it provides. She goes to daycare the days I work. We are probably changing daycares due to wanting more structure, etc. If you have tried to get into a daycare around here you know it is no small feat! Anyway...I would love to hear from you all. If you want, you may e-mail me at : specialcricket@yahoo.com. I can respond much easier that way!

Have a great weekend!

Jill

We are from Memphis to!

Hi,

My D/H (dear husband?) and I are just starting the process and are looking for an agency. We want to adopt from Russia and have asked for an info. packet from Williams Int. here in Memphis on stage rd. Does anyone know anything about them or have recommendations? Thanks

Agency

Hey. I have a friend who just brought her daughter home from Russia and she used Children's Hope International in Brentwood. Their main office is in St. Louis I believe. They were very satisfied.

Have a great adoption journey...it is truely a journey, but well worth it!

Jill
