Contested adoption?

I was wondering if any of you from Indiana know how long the BirthMother has to change her mind after relinquishing ( I cant spell lol ) her rights in that state?

[From what I have read, the bmother has 72 hours after birth to sign papers. Then another 10 days after the papers are signed to change her mind. But, I am thinking it's not final until after your final hearing in court. I would ask a your lawyer for these questions though. I have read many different things, and I am somewhat confused about the whole adoption process myself... Sorry couldn't be more help!! But, thought I'd offer the information I've read on-line!!!

Hope everything works out for you!!!

God Bless,
Melissa

help for you

I placed my daughter for adoption in 2002. The laws havent changed since then i think. Bparents can sign rights after 24 hours or 48 hours with c-section. The papers once signed are irrevocable unless fraud or coercision occur. Indaian ia adoptive parent friendly. Meaning the laws help the adoptive parents kepp their child after terminsation oif rights. Ussually finalization happens after 6 months.
