We had our home study Tuesday, I have to say, I do not know why I stressed myself out so much. It went terrific. The lady we had put us at ease immediatly. I had done so much reserch on home studies and included everything I needed in a portfolio for the social worker. She said that I was so thorough and made her job so easy that she felt bad taking our money. (I felt like saying ok, I will only pay you half LOL) Anyway, I have to say to any one stressing about a home study, don't!!!! It really was no more than a interview for a job, only this is about your life. Our social worker will be back one final time to complete our home study. Thank you to everyone who helped me through this. Now all we have to do is wait for January to come when the baby is born.

Congratulations!!! I know you don't know me but I just had to chime in. I am also working on a domestic adoption here in Illinois (obviously). I just finished my own home study and I have to say I agree with you. It really was no big deal. There weren't any questions in it that I couldn't answer. I haven't read the finished report yet but I'm not anticipating any serious problems.
