Hello all~

I am also here in Las Vegas and waiting to adopt. Our homestudy was done on January 5th and we became an approved family on January 31st--now it is just the wait we have to get through. Our agency has a surprisingly short waiting period. It was mentioned in our Adoptive Parenting classes that the majority of the people in our class should be parents by Mother's or Father's Day 2005. There were 7 couples and 2 singles that were in our class and out of the nine of us--four have already received their child. Our classes were in October 2004 and three children were placed in November! How exciting! I am hopeful that we should be receiving our little miracle sometime soon. I just wanted to post that WE are out there though a lot of people from Nevada probably don't know about these forums. It it nice to connect with those who have something in common--ADOPTION! Can't wait to hear from those of you who are still out there.

Today I am feeling discouraged and that maybe I should use an agency outside of Nevada. Anyone in Nevada ever done that? I am seriously tired of trying to figure out the best way to do this. I just want someone to tell me what to do. Anyway, wondering if any of the waiters have had any success?

Monica--congratulations on your new daughter! It's just amazing when you get The Call and your whole world suddenly changes-for the better! I was at work when I got the phone call (by the way, we used the same agency!) that we had a son and could bring him home the next day--I still cry when I think about it, and he's almost 10 months old now :-)

Jen--hang in there, you never know when you're going to get your Call!

My husband and I just finished the classes with catholic charities and are officially approved.. home study done and all.. It is very hard waiting.. They said they dont get alot of the race that we want to adopt so it is frustrating to think of how long we might have to wait... I hope we get the call quickly but not going to hold my breath..
