I was also curious, and called. They work with the birthmothers. And represent them. They aren't referral services, or lawyers for the adoptive family. I think they get profiles to show the birthmothers, from other lawyers or referral services.

Go under a search engine and put Arizona Adoption Referral Services, or Arizona Adoption Lawyer Services, or something similar. It should help in finding a Lawyer to work with.

Also, I think that adoption.com has a list somewhere on their site.

Are you still looking for an attorney that handles atoptions in Phoenix?

I know of one. He does not charge as long as it is a DES child you adopt. If you are interested, let me know...I would need to find the paper I wrote it on. You know how it is...you put it somewhere safe so you don't lose it and then you can't remember where

Yes most definatley I am still looking for an attorney and the one you talk about in your email sounds perfect. We may have to adopt through the state of AZ which is fine but I am concerned about he atty cost so if there is an atty who has minimal to no fees for az children in custody fo the state then taht would be asesome.

My husband and I adopted a newborn in the Phoenix area about 4 mths ago. It was a private adoption and I know of the attys in this area that definitely do those... can't say whether or not they also do state placement type as that's not what we personally pursued.
