Are we allowed to post threads to ....
Are we allowed to post threads on here to try and
locate a birthmother who is wanting to place her child up for adoption? I posted the other day but now that I think about it I'm not sure if we are allowed to do that? I would like to post on adoptionforums.com and try to locate a birthmother that way but I want to make sure its not against the website's policy.... Any help would be wonderful..... If you scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Terms of Service" you will find as rule #3:
3. Community Websites are NOT places for adoptive parents or adoption professionals to solicit birthparents. So many people visit the Community Websites that birthmothers get "pounced on" from dozens of different people if this rule is not strictly observed. Adoption Media is committed to making the Community Websites places where birthparents feel safe. It is not appropriate for adoption professionals or hopeful parents to post "I can help" messages, or Internet addresses for birthmothers to visit, or to send this type of e-mail to birthmothers. It is also not the place for birthparents to solicit adoptive parents either. When the forum administrators see any posts that are soliciting they will remove them.

I may be wrong but this thread REALLY bothers me! This poster actually accomplished advertising that she is looking to adopt and evn gave her email address so people could contact her! She did this very cleverly by asking a question which gave this information and her post hasn't been deleted ! I thought it would be!

This post is a little bothersome to me!! This poster very cleverly succeeded in getting the word out that she is looking for a baby to adopt and she evn posted an email address for people to contact her. She did this all by asking a question!!!! Very clever!!! I cannot believe this post was allowed! I was sure it would be deleted! I am sure if a birth mother posteD the following--it would have been deleted.

First I would like to say I am sorry that you took
offense to my "not" knowing that I wasnt able to post a message like that. The reason I followed up an email questioning if I was even allowed to do that in the first place is becz another poster on the website replied to me and told me that we are not allowed to do that which was done in a friendly matter. Not downgrading or making it look as though I did something intentional and then tried to make it look innocent. But since you seem to believe that anyway then go right ahead. And secondly It was my FIRST time on the website & didnt even know that a post could be deleted, if I knew that then it would have been deleted my me..... and just in case anybody may be frightened that a b/m contacted me then let me put your fears at rest and say that DID NOT happen..... Once again I'm sorry if anybody took offense. I posted a message w/out knowing that it's not the type of message adoptionforums allows, was told that by another poster and have not posted any such related messages since then.....

Since you did not know the protocol of this forum, I see no reason for anyone to be angry about your mistake. I'm sure it was an honest mistake. Since you now know the forum rules, this matter is easily rectified... simply delete your original post, and the entire thread will disappear... POOF!
