Birthfather's rights in AZ???
Hi, I have a precious "almost-adopted" baby boy, brought home 2 months and 1 week and 1 day ago, just a few days after he was born. The birthmom carried him out of the hospital and handed him to me. She then signed the consent papers a week after he was born, as promised. The BF is in VA, and although the birthmom said that he will sign the consent papers, he hasn't as of yet. The birthmom first said his car was broke down, that she is "bugging him" to get this done, now she says he will be out here in a month (to visit her & their other son, I presume) and will do it then, if he hasn't already. Our precious baby is 9 weeks old now and so deeply inbedded in our hearts already...
I have read about birthfather's rights in AZ and it doesn't look like he can stop the adoption at this point (we have never heard from him at all, no reason to believe that he would try to stop it). But of course we have our moments of sheer terror, but thank God they are brief. Also, the birthmom doesn't show any signs of regret, she seems happy with her decision, and only e-mails me to update me on the status of the consent papers of the BF. What do you think?? Bessings!
