Angel Adoption Hmm...

Hello,

I have not had any experience with Angel Adoption but I can say that I was not impressed by their website. I also noticed that they are not licensed. Perhaps you should proceed with caution. I'm pretty new to this whole adoption thing but people have advised me to be careful with facilitators. I have heard that most facilitators are legitimate but when you get a dishonest or bad one the loss can be devistating.

Best of luck to you,
Dawn

Angel Adoption in Cary Illinois

With Facilitators, if the Mother decides to keep her Baby the money is credited towards another child instead of refunded!

I also agree with the not licensed part. You may also want to consult the Better Business Bureau seeing that they are not licensed!

Thanks for the clarification Juliana Theresa. I have been told that in addition to checking the Better Business Bureau, a reputable agency will probably have a list of references that you can call.

Hope this helps,
Dawn

What everyone has said is true. I would also see if they have orientations, and information on their process and fees. Most of all I would definitely see if there are any legitiment referances. They fact they are not licensed would concern me.

angel adoptions - cary illinois

thank you everyone who has responded - we are the proud parents of 8, 2 by birth (20, 21), 1 step (21), 4 adopted boys (12, 10 , 9, 6) and one foster daughter (18 mo) who we are hoping to adopt. we're looking at a private adopt for an infant, avoiding foster care this time with the hope that it will be simpler (??) ... all of which is a long way to say that we are looking for feedback on both angel adoptions (good references per their list & very personable), and at lifetime adoptions. we are also open to suggestions. if this is relevant - our family is composed of black, white & hispanic, racially we are open.
God bless -

tanya (and eduardo)

Angel Adoption in cary Illinois

My younger Daughter was featured as a 'Waiting Child' in Adoptive Families Magazine. Because of this, I did not have a choice in Daughter's Placement Agency.

I made the assumption that they passed either a Professional Screening or Background Check by Adoptive Families as a Reputable International Agency.

I was extremely very shocked at the 'Rap Sheet' of complaints the Agency had.

Angel Adoption in cary Illinois

My younger Daughter was featured as a 'Waiting Child' in Adoptive Families Magazine last year. I did not have a choice in choosing a Placement Agency because of this factor of the Adoption.

I totally assumed that the Agency had been put through a Professional either Screening or Background check as a Reputable Agency before being allowed to 'Show' Daughter.

They did not have to do this. I was very extremely beyond shocked at the 'Rap Sheet or Listings' or Complaints for this Agency.

In India, where my Daughter's Adoption took place. They were promising Children to either Multiple (more than one) Families, or Children who did not exist (They were Imaginary) to Families.

In their Russian Program, Babies were too sick to be considered as Adoption Material.

I would be interested in being personally e-mailed for help in a process that we all share, I think Kim would be interested in being personally e-mailed for help.

Do your Homework, and most of all listen to your intuition!

Angel Adoption

I also live in Illinois and was thinking of using Angel Adoptions to facilitate my next adoption. But after talking with my adoption attorney, I found out that A LOT of attorney's and agencies will NOT work with them because: 1) they are not licensed 2) they are VERY misleading with the amount of money that they quote you. NO WHERE on their website does it tell you of the "other" expenses that could occure when you adopt, like birthmother living expenses, being responsible for ALL of the childs medical/hospital expenses. etc. 3) Courts could contest the "other" expenses because(from what I was told) it's illegal for FACILITATORS to charge you money for those expenses.

Just be very careful when choosing a place like this. Make sure that the attorney and/or agency will work with them.

Best Wishes,
Kenna B.

Angel Adoption in Cary

We adopted thru Angel Adoption in Cary Illinois twice and had a wonderful experience both times! We have a beautiful daughter who is 20 months old and a new daughter who is 2 months old.
They work in conjunction with a licsensed agency near them, so all of thier adoptions are agency assisted. Plus they have a big list of references they give. One of the postings had it wrong, they never have adopotive parents pay for medical or delivery. Occasionaly they will have a Birthmom that needs living expenses, but they will tell you about it up front. There are no hidden fees. The agency and the attorney come to just under $3000. plus Angel Adoption's fee. I have sent so many people to Angel Adoption and they have had great experiences. The directors are wonderful. They only take 30 couples at a time and I know they have a waiting list, but I don't think it goes that slow.

Check out their web site AngelAdoptionInc.com

Good luck to all, Mary F.

Angel Adoption In Cary

We have some friends using Angel Adoption in Cary. With the exception of one post, the feedback for this agency does not look good. They are just estatic that a birthmother recently selected them. All they know is that she is very young and only only 2 1/2 months along. I am so worried for them. That sure does seem like a long journey. Is this a reasonable time to wait for a birth? Does contact usually take place this far in advance?
