adopting a relative
My husband and I are serious about adopting his neice's son. I welcome any and all information on adopting a relative since this is my first attempt to find any information.

Hello,
I don't know the whole situation but I suspect you will probably have to go through foster parent training. I'd recommend contacting DCFS if the child is older or perhaps a private agency if the child is unborn or a very young infant. Hope this helps, Dawn

I'm sorry to bug you twice but I just noticed there's another forum on this site called "relative adoption". If you follow the links from "adoptive parents" to "before adoption" to "Relative Adoption", you'll be there. They might be able to help you there.
