Smile Hello fellow Missourians!

I am new to this board and am looking for some information. My dh and I are looking into adoption. To keep a long story short, we have lost two little girls in the last two years due to a genetic disease that my dh and I are passing on, although we didn't know it until we had our second daughter. One passed away right after birth and the second lived for six and a half weeks. We just can't take the risk of getting pg again and losing another child. It's too hard. Anyway, my OB/GYN recommended an agency and wanted to know if anyone knows anything about it. It's called "A Gift of Life" and the attorney's name is Laura Sipes. She's located in St. Charles. Are there any other agencies in Missouri that any of you are familiar with that you would recommend?

Hope to get to know you all very well.

Stacy

Cool

Stacy,
Sorry to hear about your losses. There's a great Agency run by a lady named Marie. Its Adoption COunciling Inc. she's located in Kansas but she travels all over. She's a very caring and friendly lady. I could probably go on forver about the great service as well as emotional support we recieved from her and the lawyer she uses. I'll send you her number if you'd like to have it. She does domestic & international adoptions. Hope this helps.

Thumbs up Agencies in MO

Look into Missouir Department of Social services. Adoption through the state is free of charge. It sounds like you and your DH may even be willing to help keep siblings together (there are plenty of sisters out there that would like to stay together). Good luck and research agencies carefully....almost all of them are baby brokers. Anyone that charges a $5000 or more "service fee" is selling babies no matter what they try to tell you.

Mo attorney

Hi,

If you ever get to speak with Laurie Sipes, please let me know. I have tried for months, and have left tons of messages, no luck.

I do know she works in the adoption field as an attorney, and Love Baskets actually referred her to us. Anyway, email me privately and i can share some wonderful information on adoption services that are not expensive or timely to wait for an infant.

Thanks
Gloria

Smile Laura Sipes

We recently adopted a newborn from Laura Sipes and she is wonderful to work with. We immediately had a match with a birthmother when we called her to retain her services.

Missouri attorney

Really you actually got a hold of her, well how did you do that?

Was the adoption expensive?

Laura Sipes Availability

We have never had a problem getting hold of Laura Sipes. If you leave a message she is usually very good about getting back with you. The expense of the adoption is comparable to what the local agencies charge, such as Bethany Christian Services. Laura is very well known for matching prospective adoptive parents and birthmothers quickly. She also handles a lot of international adoptions from Fiji. I would keep trying.

RE: Laura Sipes

My OB/GYN told me to give her a call, and she has never returned my calls either. Is it possible that we have a wrong number? There was a recorded message by Laura on the answering machine though.

Lexi's Pics

Cathy,
I checked out your pictures. Lexi is absolutely gorgeous! -but of course I'm sure you know without my telling you.

We have the same nickname picked out as well (Lexsi).

We are in DeSoto, and my husband commutes daily to Moore Cadillac in Ellisville for work.

I'm so excited to have found this Missouri section on the boards tonight. I've been checking out the forums for a month and didn't even realize it was broken down this far. I love having other moms to talk to that are nearby.

My dh and I, by the way, have four bio boys (Christopher, Jarred, Seth, and Caleb). They are 14, 5, 4, and 2 and the highlight of our lives. I am also the proud mother to two St. Bernard puppies (Liberty and Justice). They are both approaching 5 mos.

Have a great evening
God Bless,

Wendy

Unhappy

Hello to all fellow Missourians. I am new to this site and forum. I am 30 and so is my hubby. I am a paramedic and he is a police officer. We have been trying to conceive for 5 yrs with 1 miscarraige. I do not ovulate every month and hubby has low sperm count and low motility. We are currently getting ready to start the 3rd month of Clomid.

Due to our schedules, it is really hard to keep going to the doctor and trying new ways to conceive. It is also very expensive. I am starting to research adoption and It's really scary. None of my friends have ever been through this so I feel like I'm on my own. I have been really depressed this past week and nothing seems to make it better.

Also, shouldn't adoption be about finding a good home for the child and not about 10,000-20.000 dollars. Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

medicbound
