We have just finished our homestudy and are getting it sent to INS. Let me know if you want to exchange email addresses and we can talk more there. God Bless....Pam

When my husband reminded them that he was Belizean, the clerk seemed flustered, then told us she'd contact us. That was months ago. Any suggestions?

My husband and I started the process of adopting from Azerbaijan 7 months ago. That seems to be falling apart. We are now looking at adopting from Belize. Can anyone give me information about your adoption experience?
Feel free to email me privately at a2brown1@hotmail.com Thanks, Ashley |

Belize does not use agencies. You must go through their
human services dept. I can email you the address and phone number. good luck, Pam |

Hi,
I am currently adopting from Guatemala but am looking at other countries for my second child. I would appreciate honest insight into Belize. Are there many roadblocks, level of difficulty etc. My first adoption has taken over 17 months and I really don't want another difficult, extremely long adoption. Thanks Beth |

I too, adopted my daughter from Guatemala. She came home at age 4 months and and the process took 10 months...3 of which was waiting on a toddler. I originally wanted a toddler, but the agency I used was not able to locate a little girl, so I got the angel I have now.
I will scan and email the paper work I got from Belize and the phone numbers to call there. I was told by 2 different people the process could take 6 months, but on the paper work it says about a year. They prefer to adopt to Belize nationals first, and they get first preference. I inquired about the kids, and told them about my daughter, but said the hispanic and fairer skinned children go first. The children for me would probably be creole, black, but that is ok with me. I want a child of similar culture and language as my child, so whether she would be a bit darker skinned is not an issue. I am ready to send my paper work back to Belize so I'll keep you posted about the process. Pam |

I'm about to start the process of adoption from the Guatemala program. I've asked my agency if it is going to be hard for my husband and I to adopt because I am on medication for anxiety and panic attacks. They said there will not be a problem. Has anyone adopted while taking medication for this problem?
Thank You God Bless |
